Rungus Lass from Kudat is Miss Borneo Ethnic 2014 held in Menara SSM KL Sentral recently in conjunction with Borneo Hornbill Festival 2014

Claryssa Henry Ogodong was earlier crowned Miss Sabah Ethnic Open 2014 .She beats 4 other contestants to the MISS BORNEO ETHNIC title.

Others vying for the coveted title were Miss Sabah Ethnic(KadazanDusun) -Ledesma Steven,Miss Sarawak Ethnic( Bidayuh)-Rita Berry ,Miss Sarawak Ethnic(Iban)-Nathalie Dinggai & Miss Sarawak Ethnic Org Ulu-Diane Sagan.

The Rungus are an ethnic group of Borneo, residing primarily in northern Sabah in the area surrounding Kudat. A sub-group of theKadazan-Dusun, they have a distinctive language, dress, architecture, customs, and oral literature.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rungus_people)

Miss Sabah Ethnic(Open) 2014@RUNGUS COSTUME
The traditional Rungus dress is black, often with hundreds or even thousands of dollars worth of antique beads. Traditionally all Rungus women wore heavy brass coils around their arms, legs and necks. Brass arm coils are often accompanied by white and coral shell bracelets. Rings of brass may also be worn around the waist.
