HACHIKO's STORY: How well can we wait?

HACHIKO statue at  Shibuya Tokyo railway train TOKYO JAPAN
In 1924 ,Hidesaburo Ueno ,a professor in the agriculture dpt at the University of Tokyo, took in a pet dog which he named HACHIKO.During the professor's life , HACHIKO greeted him at the end of each day at the Shibuya railway station where the professor got off after returning from work. This scene  was a daily occurence until May 1925, when one day Professor Ueno did not arrive as usual .The professor had suffered from a cerebral haemorrhage & died.
He would never return to train station where HACHIKO was waiting.Remarkably his pet dog would wait faithfully every day for a total of a 9 years at the station for its master to return. The dog was given away after his master's death but he would escape  & find his way to the train station where he would faithfully & patiently wait for him. Many people who frequently used the station began to notice the dog & remembered that it belonged to the professor .They began to provide food for the dog as it waited precisely at the time the train was due to arrive.
Eventually the dog became  a national sensation  & a symbol of faithfulness & family loyalty.
HOW WELL CAN WE WAIT? Could we wait patiently like HACHIKO in our life.....
WAITING  & HOPING are wound together like the strands of a rope..

How to improve our life.

Personality:
Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
Don't have negative thoughts of things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive ...present moment
Don't over do; keep your limits
Don't take yourself so seriously; no one else does
Don't waste your precious energy on gossip
Dream more while you are awake
Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need..
Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner of his/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.
Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present
No one is in charge of your happiness except you
Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
Smile and laugh more
You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
Community:
Call your family often
Each day give something good to others
Forgive everyone for everything
Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6
Try to make at least three people smile each day
What other people think of you is none of your business
Your job will not take care of you when you are sick. Your family and friends will. Stay in touch.
Life:
Put GOD first in anything and everything that you think, say and do.
GOD heals everything
Do the right things
However good or bad a situation is, it will change
No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up
The best is yet to come
Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful
When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it
If you know GOD you will always be happy. So, be happy.

When life has u Feeling Down..

Port Dickson-SOLITUDE
We live in a very tense society. We are pulled apart... and we all need to learn how to pull ourselves together.... I think that at least part of the answer lies in solitude. ~Helen Hayes
American Idol" judge(Simon) said during an appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" .."I get very, very down," Cowell said "Pretty much depression. (But) what I always say is, 'You're taking yourself too seriously, so stop it.' At the same time, you should never put a painted smile on. When you're feeling down, you're feeling down."
"You just become aware that a lot of people depend on you, rely on you, or you're not giving people the time you should be giving them. It's almost like a guilt thing, and that does drain me,"
he said.
Often seen as arrogant because of his stinging put-downs to aspiring singers, Cowell admitted that he had a strong ego.
"I made some absolutely horrific mistakes. I believed my own ego, believed my own hype, believed my own abilities, and lots of times it came crashing down," he said. "I thought I was absolutely untouchable."

i read this article last month in May at The Sun Newspaper...& this story was drew my intention & interest..when someone like Simon Cowell such a big name & public figure admitted that he is feeling down...nothing wrong with that..& life itself has it UP & DOWN..everyone of us  has their very own life story to share with... regardless what our religious background we hv to experience it in order to move forward...myself personally as a Christian that was thought to share our life with others & our community that would uplift our spiritual growth & put our faith on Him..recently i hv chatted with my different faith friend's..(via YM)..& i had asked how the life going on..& he replied''life is has it Up & Down'..eventually i know he is feeling down...Personally,this yr 2010 i was started my new yr resolution "In that Situation"..& times goes by & through self -reflection ,doing life together (in a healthy community)..everything was gone..& the life always knock u down & it up to u whether to surrender or step forward & defeat your GIANTS...
When Life has you feeling Down, Keep these Words in Mind..

So i'm letting go..........

This folk story was told by my teacher during Standard 1..& i had read it in one Devotional Booklet"Our Daily Bread" once & recently i read the same story again at one of Major newspaper.

Story that says in Africa (and India)  also in Malaysia , the villager use a technique to catch monkeys. They hollow out one end of a coconut and they  put banana in there . The monkey puts his hand in the coconut and when he makes a fist to grab the banana, he's trapped. The villager will pull a string attached to the other end of the coconut and capture the monkey.

Nothing is keeping that monkey captive except the force of its own attachment. All it has to do to escape is let go of the banana. But so strong is the force of greed that it is a rare monkey which can let go.

We may laugh at the monkey for its stupidity but every day we see similar foolishness displayed by many of us who struggle with letting go.

Many of us are traumatically bonded and cling on to bad relationships even though we know better. Or we can’t let go of a bad habit.

While greed for food holds the monkey back, what holds us back? Is it our ego, power, pride or greed?

Nelson Mandela quit as president of South Africa after his first term a legend. Some politician/leader can’t let go of their position and stay in the job way past their expiry date, causing the  country to be ruined in the process.

But this Pak Uban even cannot let go ..Sarawak
 after almost 30 years...So sad..

MCA president Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik on his resignation speech;Ling led the MCA for 17 years.
“I am not going to change my mind. [My supporters and I] have discussed that the reason for my resignation is to pave the way for the younger generation of leaders to take my place.”

His deputy  Tan Sri Lim Ah Lek, who also resigned with Ling.
“Thank god, at last I can retire. I am leaving the party post willingly and without any hesitation. I have served the party for almost 30 years. It’s time to leave.

“Unlike government servants who will automatically retire when they come to an age, politicians must learn how to sacrifice when the time comes. All party members must learn this culture.”

In 2002 a tearful speech Mahathir announced
his resignation to a surprised UMNO General Assembly.
                                                         LET ME GO...
In life, there are many things that we have to learn to let go. We have to let go of situations, things, memories, attachment to people and even ourselves. It can be very painful when it’s time to let go.

TITANIC :I'LL NEVER LET GO JACK..I PROMISE...
Letting go is similar to crossing monkey bars. we have to let go at some point in order to move forward. Letting go can be one of the scariest experiences in our life but only by boldly taking a leap of faith into the unknown can you truly be the person we were meant to be.
"Old friends pass away, new friends appear. It just like the days. And old day passes,
a new day arrives. The important thing is to make it meaningful: a meaningful friend or a meaningful day"

                                  SO,LET's IT GO..............................................
