Nading Rhapsody
is an Avant-Garde Borneo Ethnic Music band from Kuching, Sarawak (Borneo)

Members The band consists of Boy Kevin (Bassist, Composer), RaWa (Lead / Acoustic Guitar), Nigg (Sape’), Gai Ritchie (Tribal Percussion), Yen (Djembe / cajon), Roy (Vocalist / Lyricist), Christ (Vocalist / Ruding (small bamboo stick) and Opah (Vocalist / Chanter).

Nading Rhapsody is a group of young performers who are very proud of their Borneo ethnic culture, heritage and sounds. Their music resembles the origins & roots of each band member.

Their music presentation is a unique fusion of folk songs, ritual chanting, lullabies, myths, stories of ethnic groups in Sarawak & Contemporary music with a new & different arrangement. The band has also composed a few original songs with an injection of various ethnic elements.

The band has a unique approach of expressing their love for their culture. They are often experimental, radical & provocative; both in their songs arrangement & their image.

The band Nading Rhapsody is based in Kuching, Sarawak (Borneo).

BIOGRAPHY:
Nading Rhapsody portrays the Iban ethnic’s mythical story of an extraordinary role model. According to the long saga of Dayak tribe, Nading is a legend god of a place called “Panggau Libau.”

Nading Grasi is Keling’s uncle, the Iban master hero. Due to his aggressive nature and curiosity, Nading Grasi was asked to leave (expelled from) Panggau Libau (Heaven). After leaving Panggau Libau, he started living life as a normal human being on earth which is called Borneo. Nading has left a lifelong impression treasures and life stories of the people in every place that he visited through folktales. But because of his strong philosophy of being an anti-hero, his life journey soon has been forgotten as years passed by the local community .

However, its cultural legacy always remains in the hearts of the ancestors in Panggau Libau. Inspired by Nading’s battleship of culture, a new generation band called "Nading Rhapsody" which was made up by young musicians of various ethnic backgrounds who are determined to emphasize Nading’s famous legacy, and also to bring back the distinctive spirit of ethnic traditional folk songs that has been adapted to suit the demands of contemporary music
