Panda is coming to town..

On June 15, 2012, the Malaysian and Chinese governments clinched a deal for Feng Yi and Fu Wa to be loaned to Malaysia for 10 years to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries this year.
“We are hopeful that in the 10 years they are here, the pandas will breed and we can welcome another addition to the zoo, and we are confident they will be able to mate.

How much will it cost Malaysia to lease the two pandas, Fu Wa and Feng Yi, from China for 10 years?
 1) cost of building the exhibition area and the habitat in Zoo Negara for the pandas at RM24.9 million
 2) leasing two pandas for 10 years, the bill for leasing alone may come up to US$20 million(approx RM 70 Million)
